- Neuromuscular Massage for Injury Recovery (September 25, 2009)
In 2007, I was a healthy 37-year-old woman, with no family history of strokes, yet I suffered a disabling stroke on Feb. 12 of that year. The stroke disabled my left face, arm, and leg. Five short weeks later, I had a second small stroke that again numbed by left face, scalp, and throat. Both strokes were caused by blood clots in the right hemisphere of my brain. I now refer to Feb. 12, 2007, as the Day My Life Changed, which I playfully call the DaMLiC.
Starting two months after my first stroke, I started blogging about my experience. I have described in detail what it was like to have a stroke and to recover from my strokes. I also described warning signs you should be familiar with in case you or someone you know someday suffers a stroke. You can find a copy of the original blog as listed below (the original blog is gone, so the comments are gone, too).
I recommend you read the blogs in the order in which I wrote them, as it might make more sense.
